Tips for a name that gets through
- The game checks both parts together, so splitting a blocked word across the two names will not get it past the filter.
- Use a shared second name for a guild or a family of alts, like Blizzard's Brightvale example.
- Avoid names that impersonate Blizzard or other players and repeated-letter tricks; those can be restricted.

How do names work in WoW Forever?
Every character has two names, like a first name and a surname. The full two-name combination must be unique within your region, so a first name someone else uses can still be yours with a different second name.
Can I hide my second name?
Yes. Game Menu (Escape) › Options › Nameplates › untick “My Secondary Name”. It is still shown in chat.
When can I reserve a name?
Early Name Reservation runs from October 27 to November 3, 2026, for eligible upgrade purchases, first come, first served.
